May 28, 2023 - Fixing
Over the years, various PHP upgrades have exposed some of the loose coding syntax allowed that I never saw was causing problems. Now seen, I'm trying to fix. Time to name more colors!

June 22, 2019 - https yes!
I am slowly going through all my projects - many I haven't had time to touch in ages - and making the shift over to https.

November 6, 2010 - Fixed
I think I've fixed HexHues, let me know if you run into any problems. Sorry for the disruption.

October 30, 2010 - Having Problems
The HexHues site has been having some backend problems which I am in the middle of fixing. Please be patient, will be fixed as soon as I can.

October 5, 2010 - New URL
I have gone ahead and changed the URL for the site yet again. First it was off of electricalsocket.com, then it was hexagonalhues.com, then hexhues.com. Now, finally, it's hexhu.es. Why use the .com? Doesn't add anything to the equation. We're all about brief. Hope you still enjoy.

January 31, 2009 - Find A HexHue
Woke up this morning and realized that one of the core uses people would have for this site is to find (and name) a particular color. But I hadn't given anyone an easy way to get to that color. So, added a "Find a HexHue" box on each page which allows you to type in a hexadecimal color code and jump straight to the page for that color. If it's already been named, you can add a comment if you'd like. If it's not already named, you can submit one.

January 31, 2009 - Send Me Feedback
Knowing from years of building websites that my websites grow better from real feedback (good or bad) from those who are using it, I've added a form for you to send me questions, comments, or anything else. Just click on the "Feedback" link found on any page.

January 31, 2009 - What's New? What's New.
Sometimes I forget that if you're continually adding to or updating a website, if no one knows you are, it's almost as if you're not doing anything. I always know what I just added, but to let everyone else know, I've added a What's New section to HexHues. This will be a handy way to show newcomers that this site has been around for a long time (1996!) and is still growing.

August 8, 2008 - Feel Free to Comment
For 12 years I've had a site which welcomed your participation, allowing you to name colors, but I didn't provide you any way to comment on the HexHues named by others. Well, I've corrected that omission and starting today, comment all you'd like. Of course, I do review all comments (just like color names) and so I can weed out the spam, vulgarity and general innane stuff that often gets submitted through web forms these days. But rest assured, I'm pretty generous about what I let through, so you'll see your comment up in no time. As comments are anonymous (at least for now) you will not need to submit any information about yourself. Likewise, you will not get any email confirmation when it has been added.

August 4, 2008 - The Latest (Archived)
A request I've had for at least 5 years now finally was fulfilled. This was a way to view the latest HexHues. I've added not only a way for you to see the most recent HexHues, but a chronological list going back to the beginning of the site. Just choose "Latest HexHues" from any page on the site.

August 3, 2008 - Introducing HexHues
Many years ago, I created a little site for people to name & play with colors. It lived in many places and mainly went by the name HexagonalHues. It's last resting place was on The Firm List, but I felt it should have a life of its own, and thus it has a new URL and a name name.

April 12, 2000 - Hexagonal Hues Added to The Firm List
As part of the roll-out of the Tools @ The Firm List site, I have moved my HexagonalHues website over to the Tools subdomain.

May 28, 1998 - Updates
Made some changes with the Hexagonal Hues website. Now, in addition to the colors you name from out of the entire spectrum of colors, I've created a handy guide to the "web-safe" color palette.
